Healthy Living Recipes - stew recipes are ideal for diabetics and healthy too!Ideas & Helpful Hints

Whatever types of meal you eat not, there's a few simple ways to boost their nutrition and make them more healthy for all the family.

Just a few simple tips can boost your health day by day:-

  • sprinkle cold milled flaxseed (linseed) on cereals, yogurts, salads or add to smoothies - it's a great source of Omega 3 and is rich in fibre
  • I also came across an interesting variation on a Shepherd's Pie recipe, with a topping of sweet potato (lower GI than regular potatoes!), good idea, bet that tastes fabulous?!
  • Sprinkling pine nuts on a salad or pizza can help to give a boost to your immunity system.
  • Love mashed potato, but worried about your sugar levels? Try a mix of regular and sweet potatoes which tastes great and has a lower GI index, although you may still have to watch your portion size!
  • Use spinach instead of ordinary salad leaves - they're a superfood and SO much better for you than lettuce. Or chop a few pieces of cabbage (red or white), they're full of goodness too.
  • many people are turning to organic foods & vegetables to ensure that the food they eat are more natural and have been not sprayed or treated with chemicals
  • for potato wedges, use sweet potatoes or butternut squash
  • serve fewer carbs (carbohydrates) and increase portions of meat and vegetables
  • enjoy fresh yogurts with sliced fresh fruit for desserts, rather than sugar-rich shop bought deserts.
