Pregnancy & Diabetes - coping with an insulin pump

My daughter, now age 23, has been anxious about what happens when

she decides it's time to have children and become pregnant.

After reading an old copy of a pregnancy guide, which devoted an entire chapter to diabetic pregnancy, she was concerned about what preparation would be required and what care she would need during pregnancy.

The good news is that her new diabetic team and doctor were able to give her plenty of reassurance that there's good care available and that there's little need to worry and be anxious.

Of course, she'll have to work hard to manage and maintain good blood glucose levels, but her current diet shouldn't need to change much, though she'll need to eat a few more daily calories.

Pregnancy without Pounds offers a free guide to exercise and diet during pregnancy, to help minimise excessive weight gain and promote fitness of both mother and baby.
